I told them to look tired in this shot. You can't see it in the photo very well but they were all filthy! Especially Ashlyn.
Last Saturday, Chris put the kids to work carrying these bricks to the backyard. They were on pallets in the front yard. Whitney and Gavin were not overjoyed with this development. Ashlyn thought it was great fun! Rosie and Victoria, two of our cute neighbor girls enjoyed it greatly too. They kept saying what a fun day it was! Gavin complained nonstop. Whitney complained that her hands were getting blisters. Chris lectured them about how he had to carry two five gallon buckets of water to goats for 2 miles when he was around their age. This kind of backfired though when all the kids could focus on was that he had goats! Chris paid them for their labors with Dairy Queen blizzards.

Don't tell the kids that it wasn't two miles. But he did have to haul the water. Must be why he's so tough now, huh? LOL
Wow! That is alot of bricks! Thank goodness for children...isn't that why we had them? To make them do all of the work? This is what I tell my kids when they complain about doing simple chores. ha! And, Chris actually pulled out the old, "When I was your age speech"? Wow, are we turning into our parents? lol!
holy moly! that is impressive!! :)
Ah! I love it! There is nothing more valuable than the lesson of good hard work. I think that every kid needs to experience it.
