Gavin's Birthday Party

That is one big cake!

*If you click on the collage it will make it full sized.
We rented out Aviator's Landing's Splash Park for Gavin's birthday party this year. Spoiled rotten, I know! It was two hours of water filled fun. =D We were a little worried about rain but thankfully the skies stayed clear for us. It was so much fun and very easy on Mom and Dad. I think it is safe to say that a great time was had by all!

My Handsome-Mansome is 8!!!

Top row, left to right: Gavin at birth, 4 years, 6 years, 5 years
bottom row: 1 year, 7 years, 2 years, 3 years

The birthday boy on his new bike. Chris was over the moon about this bike.

This one was from Whitney. No birthday or holiday would be complete without some sort of Nerf weapon!
He had been coaching Ashlyn to get him a pet snake for his birthday. I don't think this snake is quite what he had in mind.
His first set of scriptures.

Gavin asked for cinnamon rolls and sausage for his birthday breakfast. I tried to get him to pose for me but as you can see he was intent on having that first yummy bite! Boys!!!

A Thoughtful Thief

Ashlyn came downstairs a little while ago, handed me my wallet and said, "thank you Mama". Not a good thing! I quickly checked to make sure my cards and ID were still in there proper places. All was well in that area. She had cleared out every last cent I had in cash though! I asked her where my money was and she replied, "In my piggy bank. Thank you Mama!" What kind of child am I raising? Possibly a thief but such a polite one. Afterall she did return my wallet and say thank you.

Two Months Old

On Saturday Landon officially turned two months old! He had his 2 month check up last Tuesday. He weighed 11 lbs. 10 oz., was 24 inches long and his head was 16 1/2 inches. Putting him in the 90th percentile for his length and head size and the 50th percentile for weight. He is a good little baby and smiling all the time! As soon as anyone comes into his range of vision he starts smiling. Many times I see him smiling away even when no one is around! He is cooing all the time too. Two to four months is my absolute favorite age during the first year. Mostly because they are so responsive but still snuggly and small.

Landon's Blessing Day

On July 5, 2009, Landon Glen Weaver, was officially given a name and a blessing by his Father. Chaz Allen, Steven Kuhni, Brian Jenne, David Patterson and Bishop Sean Magonigal were the priesthood holders Chris asked to stand in the circle with him. A few of the things said were that Landon would be a "strong warrior for his Heavenly Father in His gospel" and that he would "loudly proclaim his love for the gospel always". We are so grateful to have such a special spirit as a part of our family. I often feel overwhelmed and awed by the four precious spirits Heavenly Father has entrusted into our care. There is nothing like a new baby. I am always struck anew by how many people of all ages and walks of life seem to be irresistibly drawn to new babies. I have often pondered on why that is. The best I can come up with is because they are so pure and clean and fresh from our Heavenly Father's care. I would love to hear others thoughts on this subject.

4th of July Fun!

Eating was a major part of our celebration!
Waiting for the fireworks to start.

Whitney felt she was too mature for double pony tails but I was mean and made her wear them anyways.

Gavin & Kaden. Both are such sweeties! (Most of the time.)

Landon hanging out in the tire swing.

Chris would like to adpot Porter but his parents are kind of attached to him for some reason.
Whitney and her friend Stephanie.

This year we had a two day 4th of July celebration. Fort Rucker had their Freedom Fest on the 3rd so we hosted a small BBQ and then headed over to enjoy the fireworks. I feel fireworks are best experienced up close and personal. Then on the 4th we headed out to the fun filled Meyers Farm. The kids love it out there in the country. Horses, swimming, shooting of firearms, socializing, fishing, playground equipment and food! What could be better than all that? The only problem is they never want to leave.

My Little Man

Landon 6 weeks old!

His legs are slowly getting fatter.
Being a big sister is exhausting!
Just wanted to post a few recent pictures of my little man, Landon. When he was first born he reminded me a lot of Chris's baby pictures. Then Chris convinced me that he looked like Gavin. More and more he is looking like Chris to me. He has been smiling for a couple of weeks now but I have yet to capture it on film. I'm having a hard time getting a good shot of him at all though. A big part of the problem is that is he is awake he is moving!

How Low Can I Go???

I have been avoiding a trip to the grocery store for awhile now but this morning I realized I had hit an all time personal low. Whitney and Gavin are in a summer enrichment program at their school. They are supposed to bring some kind of a dry snack each day. We were literally down to one bag of microwave popcorn which I intended to pop and put in plastic baggies for their snack. That is until I burnt it to a crisp! As I frantically searched the cupboards in hope of finding some forgotten item, I was forced to realize that dry cereal was about all there was. I called them into the kitchen and asked them what kind of dry cereal did they want to take? This question got me some funny looks. Whitney opted to take croutons (Yes, croutons!!! She loves them!) for her snack and Gavin chose some Pops cereal. How embarrassing is that? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that their teachers don't notice. I actually had been planning a trip to the grocery store today but now it has moved to top priority!

We also discovered this week that Gavin went to school "commando" style. Chris had taken him to have his new suit tailored and that is how we found out. He absolutely refused to take his shorts off and put on the suit pants. I can't say I blame him! He said he didn't have any clean underwear in his drawer so rather than saying anything he just went without! Now in my defense there were clean underwear folded and clean in my room. They just hadn't been put away yet. He has often rummaged through the clean clothes that have not yet been put away in search of a favorite shirt. I guess underwear just doesn't garner the effort that favorite shirts do. I was actually pretty shocked that he did that because he is naturally modest and proper in most regards. Chris has been teasing him unmercifully about it ever since. Chris (bless his heart!) actually didn't believe him about not having clean underwear in his drawer and bet him $10 dollars that he did. Gavin got pretty excited thinking he had just scored an easy 10 bucks! In the meantime I had put clean underwear in his drawer causing him to burst into tears in defeat. Then I had to step up and admit that indeed it had been empty only hours before causing my husband's opinion of me to drop considerably.
